Johnetta Hammonds, M.Ed., CCC-SLP

Johnetta Hammonds is the owner and director of Hammonds Speech & Language Services, LLC, where she specializes in increasing receptive language (understanding) and expressive language (using language) skills in children and adults. Johnetta, a certified speech-language pathologist, has extensive experience working with clients who have articulation and phonological disorders, apraxia, stuttering, social communication skill disorders, learning disabilities, and reading challenges.

Johnetta earned a Master of Education in Communication Disorders from North Carolina Central University and a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. 

Johnetta's proven clinical skills in working with children and adults result from her service in the public school, hospital, and skilled nursing settings. In addition, her experience as a speech-language pathologist in public schools has provided her wealth of knowledge in early intervention treatment, special education, and Individualized Education Programs (IEP).  Johnetta has also received training in PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets) and Orton Gillingham .
